Ductless Mini-Split Installation

When Ductless Mini-Split Installation is the Right Fix

A room that's always too hot or too cold
Additions or bonus rooms with no ductwork
Finished basements and attic conversions
Sunrooms and three-season rooms
Homes with no ducts (boiler or radiant heat)
Want independent temperature control per room

The fix for the room ductwork forgot

Almost every home has one: the bonus room over the garage that bakes in summer, the finished basement that's freezing, the addition the original ducts never reached. Extending ductwork to these spaces is often expensive and ineffective. A ductless mini-split mounts a quiet indoor head on the wall, runs a small refrigerant line to an outdoor unit, and heats and cools that space independently — no demolition, no new ducts.

Zoned comfort and efficiency

Mini-splits are inverter-driven heat pumps, so they both heat and cool, and they modulate continuously instead of slamming on and off. Each indoor head is its own zone with its own setpoint — cool the bonus room without freezing the bedrooms. Because there are no ducts, you skip the 20–30% energy loss typical of ducted systems, which is why mini-splits post some of the highest efficiency ratings available.

Single-zone or whole-home multi-zone

One outdoor unit can drive a single head for one problem room, or multiple heads across several rooms for whole-home comfort in a house with no ductwork. We size each head to its room's load — oversizing a mini-split hurts dehumidification just like any other system — and place the line set and condensate run cleanly so the install looks intentional, not bolted-on.

Ductless Mini-Split Installation — Frequently Asked

Do mini-splits heat as well as cool?

Yes — they're heat pumps, so they do both. Modern units provide efficient heating well into cold weather, which makes them a great fit for spaces that are uncomfortable year-round, not just in summer.

How many indoor units do I need?

One head per zone you want to control independently. A single problem room needs one; a whole house without ducts might use three to five off one or two outdoor units. We size it to your layout and load.

Are they noisy or unsightly?

The indoor heads are very quiet and the outdoor units are far quieter than a traditional condenser. We route line sets cleanly so the install looks deliberate. Most homeowners are surprised how unobtrusive they are.
